    Muzic.Net

muzic.net.nz was officially formed in February 2001. But its history goes back a bit further than that... In late 1999 our first site, known simply as 'nzmusic' was launched. This was a simple site containing the weekly New Zealand Top 20 charts, with links to download MP3s of the songs. This continued for a couple of months until the concept grew tiresome. In early 2000 a new site was launched and the muzic.net.nz domain name was purchased. This website died an unfortunate death after about 2 months due to a hosting company dying in the dot-com crash. During the rest of 2000 work was carried out creating a new website, designed with supporting New Zealand Music in mind. The result was launched on the 1st of February 2001 on a self funded Internet connection and server. From that day forward our team of volunteers have put in a lot of effort to create something unique. We now have Top 50 charts dating back to 2000 online, over 600 Artists in our database plus the largest online Gig Guide in New Zealand. And now in August 2002 we're proud to bring you Version 3 of muzic.net.nz! So this is where muzic.net.nz is today. We're continually working on new features in response to our users requests and to make the site more useful.
